Public Service Announcement!
Wear your helmets, boys and girls!
Those of you who know me at all know I am a snowboarder. Not a crazy one - I'm basically the little old lady who only drives her snowboard to church on Sundays - but a decently good one. I don't do anything crazy enough to justify cracking a helmet (and you should see the inside of it... scary)
I have only got a few flashes of memory for the two or so hours surrounding the accident. I don't actually know what happened. Best guess is that a little kid ran into, and sent me flying. I have a memory of a girl saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," but that's it, and I don't even know if that's a real memory or a mild hallucination.
Apparently I hopped back on my board, rode the rest of the way down the mountain, found my truck (how I did that in the mega parking lot is anybody's guess), drove home, picked up a couple of packages that were left by UPS, changed out of my riding clothes, and took a nap. I have no memory of any of it.
I am totally fine now, just a little foggy for a day or so, no big deal. But this could have been a MUCH worse story without the helmet.
MORAL: Wear your helmets, kids!
